LYPBB Challenge Day 16: Choose Positive Thinking

LYPBB Challenge Day 16: Choose Positive Thinking

Today’s challenge can be difficult. There is a lot of negativity and sad news in the world; choosing positive thinking is a hard task. I am not positive every single day, but for the most part, I try to be.

When we choose to be positive, our outlook on life really changes. My husband is the one who challenged me to be positive in the first place. I was focusing on all things terrible, instead of all things wonderful. When I began to focus on the good, instead of the bad, it really did make a difference. I wish I could tell you that I am positive every day, but that would be a lie. I have just started my journey toward positive thinking and am taking it one day at a time. These challenges are very helpful in changing my mindset.

You know those people you meet who always seem to be happy and shine their light on the world? Those are some amazing people! I hope to be a quarter of those people someday.

Here are some of the things that wrap my mind in negativity, and how I try to pull myself out. Perhaps, you can do the same.

  1. Money. Bills. Wishing I made more and could help with our finances. I remind myself at the end of the day that it’s just money. What truly matters are the people I have in my life.
  2. Jealousy. I am the queen of the green monster! I wish I had her hair, those legs, that car, her job, her friends, that blog, that good luck. I try to remind myself of all the wonderful things I do have. I have an amazing family, with the most adorable children. Thinking of them always helps.
  3. Bad relationships. People I have lost. It’s always difficult to think of people we have lost, living or dead. You may never know why someone did not like you or doesn’t take as much time to be with you as they do with others. In these situations, I just try to let it go. I cannot control others.
  4. Failed goals. I have A LOT of goals that I have tried to reach and failed. I just look at these as learning situations, and press on. I would rather try and fail then not try at all.

Your turn. What are some things that bring frustration into your life and how do you make them more positive?
