Summer Lovin’

Summer has been busy in our home. This was my sons first school-free summer and I had envisioned days full of learning and fun with tons of accomplishments from myself and them. Things could not have turned out more differently.

While I’m happy to say we have had fun things have not run as smoothly as I imagined. Our youngest started the summer with sleep regressions and there doesn’t seem to be and end in sight. I also took on more work, thinking it wouldn’t be too bad. The extra work has been fun. My sons and their children get along well, but the extra exhaustion has been hard on me. I haven’t been able to accomplish all I hoped. I had a list of things I wanted to complete and nothing has finished.

However, at the end of the day making my children happy is all that matters.

I’ve been writing less, to spend more time with them. We took an amazing vacation to San Diego and they have been spending a few days a week with their friends.

While this summer hasn’t been exactly what I dreamed, it hasn’t been a total disaster either. It ends in a few short weeks and I know I’ll be sad when this happens.
Here’s hoping the rest of your summer is amazing as well!
